Hamptown Music Institute Policies 2014
Tuition is paid the first lesson of every month. Your tuition reserves you a weekly time slot and membership within the studio. The time of your lesson has been reserved and is unavailable to any other student. The instructor is also committed to instruct at that time as well. It should be clearly understood that although the tuition is paid monthly, it is not calculated by the weekly lesson. Your monthly tuition rate is the same each month even though some months will have 5 lessons and others may have as few as 2 or 3 lessons.
All of our programs are based on a month to month commitment. Payment is due on a monthly basis at the first lesson of every month. If a student begins lessons in the middle of the month we will prorate for the number of lessons before the beginning of the first full month.
We have a late payment policy of $20.00 per student. if tuition payments are not received by the first lesson of the month it is considered late and the fee will automatically be applied.
There is a $25.00 fee for any returned checks, in addition to any bank charges that we incur.
Students arriving late will not have their lesson time extended. Students arriving late by more than half of their lesson period will be considered absent.
Lesson Cancellation and Make-Up Policy
Lessons canceled by the student will only be made up if the instructor can fit the student in at a future date and time. If the Instructor cancels the lesson for any reason, the instructor is required to make up the lesson at a future date.
Studio Membership Cancelation Policy
We require a one month in advance notice to discontinue lessons. You can notify your instructor directly. If no notice is given by the first lesson of the month before lessons are being discontinued/Suspended, then the student/parent will be responsible for the next months tuition payment.
If you wish to suspend your lesson and would like to hold your current day and time, you can do so at a 50% lesson fee. This 50% hold fee will only be available for no more than 2 months.
If the studio is closed due to inclement weather, the student will be given an opportunity to make the lesson up.
Our holiday closures mirror those of the Johnston County Public School System. These closures have already been calculated as part of the monthly lesson fees. No makeup lessons are given for holiday closures.
Parents are welcome to sit in and observe students lessons at the instructor discretion.
Hamptown Music Institute reserves the right to make changes to our policies, fees or any waivers at any time.
